The Jiangxi Provincial Revolutionary Cultural Relics Collaborative Research Center is a high-level scientific research platform jointly established by the Jiangxi Provincial Museum and Nanchang University following the principles of “resource sharing, complementary advantages, collaborative innovation, and common development”. The center brings together the core strengths of both parties. Departments such as the School of Tourism and the School of Marxism of Nanchang University have in-depth collaboration with departments such as the Collection Custody Department, Protection and Restoration Department, and Open Education Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Museum. It aims to build an innovative, demonstrative, and leading scientific research highland that integrates a revolutionary cultural relics restoration technology community, a science popularization highland, an academic platform, and a resource co-construction and sharing center. The center implements a dual-director responsibility system and has seven major research platforms including a theoretical research platform for the scientific protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics and a restoration technical support and service platform, forming an organizational structure with reasonable structure and efficient operation.
Since its establishment, the center has made remarkable scientific research achievements. It has undertaken 5 major National Social Science Fund bidding projects such as "Research on Countermeasures and Pathways for the Protection of Low-level Revolutionary Cultural Relics in Jiangxi", 2 key projects, 9 other national-level projects, and 34 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Center members have published more than 170 academic papers, more than 30 monographs and popular science books such as "The Red Story Behind the Text", and 15 advisory reports have received approval from provincial and ministerial leaders. In the field of education and teaching, the center deeply integrates scientific research and education, and has achieved six national-level teaching results. It has innovatively created brand models such as "Two Teachers on the Same Stage" teaching and "Jiangxi in Cultural Relics" graduate practice classes. It has developed special courses such as "Jiangxi Red Architecture" and "Revolutionary Cultural Relics Protection and Red Theme Exhibition". Among them, the "Red Tourism" course has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate course, and "Walking with Hope" has been selected as a quality youth education course in the province's museums. In addition, the center's guidance students have won numerous awards in competitions, and have won more than 50 awards at the provincial level and above.
In terms of social services and cultural dissemination, the center actively promotes the transformation of achievements, created and compiled the large-scale stage play "Song of Youth, My Long March", continues to carry out the "Growing in the Red Cradle" series of red culture into campus activities, and is deeply involved in public projects such as the "3:30 Museum After-school Service". In the future, the center will continue to rely on the joint advantages of Jiangxi's rich red resources and the school to deepen the collaborative innovation mechanism, and is committed to producing more landmark results, cultivating high-quality professionals, providing high-quality public cultural products, and striving to build a benchmark platform for the research and inheritance of revolutionary cultural relics across the country.
