2) The key projects of National Social Science Fund have made a historic breakthrough.

The Research on Integrated Development of "Red Culture + Tourism" in Old Revolutionary Base Areas submitted by professor Hong Zhu as the chief expert was approved to be the key project of National Social Science Fund. Besides, the school harvested one youth project of National Social Science Fund and one project of National Natural Science Foundation. One teaching staff obtained the Second Prize in the 19th Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award of Jiangxi Province, and another won the Third Prize in Outstanding Research Achievements in Culture and Tourism.

4) The national innovation and entrepreneurship project for college students hit a new high.

The team of the Speech on Red Relics comprised by Undergraduate Students won Silver Medal in the Final of the 7th China International College Students’“Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The team South Zhejiang Circus won the First Prize in the Final of National College Students’ Red Tourism Creative Competition.

5)In 2022, 14.46% of undergraduate students was successfully recommended to China’s prestigious universities for pursuing postgraduate degree.

In 2022, a group of students have been pre-admitted by Wuhan University, Central South University, Ocean University of China, Nanchang University and other higher education institutions for postgraduate study, and this rate reaches 14.46% (9.38% in 2019, 10.17% in 2020, and 12.94% in 2021). One obtained the offer for master study from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

6) People's Daily and xuexi.cn reported the School’s achievements in students education.

The School was the only team selected by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Ministry of Education for social practice, and won the honorary title Outstanding Team. The School held the Competition of Top-level Red Tourism Docent of Nanchang University for the first time, and a group of students went to Ruijin, Wuyuan, Hangzhou, Shanghai to carry out summer practice and professional internship. China’s authoritative media such as People's Daily, xuexi.cn, China Youth Daily, China Education Television and China Jiangxi Radio and TV Station reported the inspiring experiences and stories of the School’s teams.

7) The School has made significant progress in internationalized collaboration.

The Confucius Institute for Tourism, jointly established with Udayana University in Indonesia, held an online opening ceremony. For the first time, the School accepted exchange students from Macao Institute for Tourism Studies and sent postgraduate students to study overseas.

8) The School is living up to its duty to support the social and economic growth of the surrounding regions.

The School held a Summit Forum for Self-reliant Science and Technology to Promote High-quality Industrial Development in Jiangxi and Forum on High-quality Development of Tourism Industry in the New Era. Think tank achievements such as A New Way to Accelerate the High-quality Development of Jiangxi Tourism Industry, Experience and Conception of Development of Holistic Tourism in Wuyuan, and the Development Plan of Jiangxi Convention and Exhibition Industry in the 14th Five-Year Plan were well acknowledged by provincial-level leading officers.

9) The School’s development fund project received a donation of 660,000 Yuan.

On Nanchang University’s 100th anniversary, alumni and the public donated 662,533.95 Yuan to the development fund of School of Tourism. The couple Mr Zhiqiang Gong and Ms Xiaorong Jiang founded the Zhilv Scholarship. Mr Zhi Chen and Mr Zhipeng Zou founded the Zhipeng Scholarship (and subsidies).

10) The School’s Party committee was awarded Advanced Unit of Nanchang University.

The School’s Party committee was awarded as Excellent Unit in the assessment of Communist Party building and an honorary title of Advanced Primary Party Unit in the systematic assessment of National Outstanding Party Member, Excellent Party Affairs Practitioners and Advanced Primary Party Unit. The School’s Youth League Committee was awarded May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee and the Advanced Unit.
